Pier 59 Park, Seattle

50-35 grid system & Romex Resin

The revitalization of Pier 59 in Seattle stands as a testament to the power of innovative, sustainable design. This iconic public park required a solution that would provide a durable, ADA-compliant surface while maintaining permeability to support environmental health. CORE Landscape Products partnered with Romex to deliver the ideal solution: our CORE Gravel 50-35 grid system, combined with Romex’s advanced resin technology, created a robust, attractive, and eco-friendly surface that exceeds expectations.

The project utilized our grid system to stabilize the gravel and resin, ensuring a seamless and smooth walking surface, fully compliant with ADA standards. This permeable foundation allows rainwater to filter through, reducing runoff and promoting natural groundwater recharge. The result is a surface that blends function with sustainability, perfectly suited for high-traffic public spaces while minimizing environmental impact.

Pier 59’s new park demonstrates the potential of sustainable infrastructure to harmonize accessibility and ecological responsibility, offering an inviting space for the community while safeguarding the surrounding environment.
